I can only say this is a decent toner. The ink runs out a lot faster than what it advertises. Toward the end of the toner's life, the carbon will become quite loose on the outside of the cartridge and you have be careful when replacing it.

Does Not Yield 8000 Clean Copies

Purchased MFC8890DW in December 2009, and alternate between making multiple copies and just an occasional copy. Usage is definitely not heavy. Two toner cartridges have leaked way before the end of their life,leaving dots/smudges all over pages. I dust the whole machine regularly, and per Brother's recommendations, and have done so heavily each time the spots showed up and also cleaned the drum. Regardless, spots remained and I have had to replace the toner prematurely and ultimately the drum prematurely--note: you can check the machine for remaining life of both the drum and toner and it should show in the window if toner needs to be replaced, which it never has. Replacements were made after Brother's reps had no other recommendations and some spots remained. Be aware, Brother will not take back toner cartridges after 3 months, even if spotting and smudging like this continues, regardless of how much of the toner life has gone unused. You will lose money. Otherwise, the machine is a great performing machine.

Brother machines will not let you print when even though the cartridge still has toner. Place a piece of black tape over the sensor on the right hand side and it will still print wonderfully for months.
