            I bought this hutch to go with the lateral filing cabinet. I did not know whether I would like it and you are basically sold into keeping it because it bolts through the laterial filing cabinet top (i.e., if you decide you do not like it, you have two big screw holes in the top of the filing cabinet where you had the shelves mounted). It's nice and I will use it, but I was not as impressed with it as I was the lateral cabinet. It seems a bit unstable having only the bolts supporting it through the bottom and the weight limits for the shelves are lower than I expected. Regardless, it looks well-made and is classy. It definitely dresses up the office.

              What is the weight limit of the shelves?

              The description says the shelves are adjustable-What is the frequency of the adjustment holes? Every one inch up the sides or 4 locations, etc?

                The shelves have a 30 lb. limit, although it is not recommended that you place anything on the very top. There are three varieties of height for each shelf, so you'll have plenty of options!
