I bought this hutch to go with the lateral filing cabinet. I did not know whether I would like it and you are basically sold into keeping it because it bolts through the laterial filing cabinet top (i.e., if you decide you do not like it, you have two big screw holes in the top of the filing cabinet where you had the shelves mounted). It's nice and I will use it, but I was not as impressed with it as I was the lateral cabinet. It seems a bit unstable having only the bolts supporting it through the bottom and the weight limits for the shelves are lower than I expected. Regardless, it looks well-made and is classy. It definitely dresses up the office.

Completes my home office/den set-up. Goes on top of my two-drawer file cabinet and blends well with the matching computer desk/hutch, executive style desk and two bookcases. Cherry finish is elegant, construction is solid, and use is practical -- a great value overall.
