I ordered the stand because I was given a 37" Sony Trinitron HD tv. (Not a flat screen) The TV is huge, weighing about 220 pounds. So when I saw that you could still by a stand that could support a TV like that I was very happy. The price was pretty good, considering they are harder to find and it looks pretty cool. So I'm very happy with the Bush Cobra TV stand. It doesn't feel very flimsy so I feel pretty safe sticking my Bose surround sound receiver under the TV. I've heard that the bottom shelves don't accommodate DVD cases very well, and I would agree with that statement. But you wouldn't really want to anyways, it draws away from the simplicity of the design. I would recommend this to someone with an old, heavy TV. The manual that came with it said you could put a 100 lb flat screen on it and that sounds about right. When you see how it's put together the major support is on the front and back of the piece. There are thin little metal bars that connect the front to the back, so I wouldn't recommend anything over the 100 lb weight limit.
