I purchased this item along with a number of other pieces to furnish a home office. Uniformly, the quality control for all items was very poor. Each item had one or more defects - such as chipped, scratched, or otherwise damaged veneer surfaces. Clearly, nobody looks closely at the product before shipping. I take that back - 2 pieces must have had quality control inspection because the inspection stickers were pasted (literally) on the "good" side of shelves. There was no way of entirely removing the inspection sticker without scratching the veneers. Another example of poor quality was how the furniture was pre-drilled / pre-assembled. Most of the desk drawers were not properly aligned, did not close all the way, etc. Overall, my impression was that this was a bush league product. I asked - and got - a substantial discount in light of product defects.
