I run a home business I was looking for a fairly inexpensive solution for a desk for my office this does fit the bill especially with the free hutch option...I have a sauder armoire much better quality and price point is the same general. This hutch was not really hard to assemble.. except for the top was a bit difficult to get on all the pegs and pins. Plan for a large space to put this together then remember you have to move it.. takes two people. You do get what you pay for the veneer is thin and the brackets that mount to the desk are not sturdy. Note to directions. it could be easier to put on the backing after you put it on the desk.. it makes it harder to place on the desk.. It is an attractive piece. Plan for at least a couple hrs or more to put it together. And don't plan to move it easily the entire group with the desk is very heavy. One of my doors had a worn frost on the glass. Will have to get a replacement. My chief issue is the corner brackets be careful to match them to the back so the screw doesn't go through the side of the hutch its not very well done. it does look nice on the matching desk. I think it was worth the money.

Probably wouldn't buy it again.

Please don't tell me I don't know how to assemble something, I do. Perhaps I just got a quirky batch, but this was a beast to assemble, a complete opposite of the L-shaped desk I assembled the day before. Two dowel holes simply did not match up, not even close (for the top to the door unit) and I had no choice but to saw away the now glued in dowels and fashion another way to secure it. Also, this really does take two people as to lift it atop a desk is cumbersome due to length and weight. The frosted glass for the doors had some minor marks on them that didn't wipe off, but nothing one would notice unless brought to one's attention. The door handles were the same high quality as on the desk. The cheesy backing was a huge disappointment - a large fold in the center is very noticeable and to feed cables through one saws on the cardboard along punched areas....so you either use a huge opening you don't need, or carefully try to saw the "perfect" opening. I ended up leaving it off completely and frankly, I like it without better as I have been able to hang a couple of framed cork boards for posting and tape notes without fear of removing the coating from the cheesy backing. I had to use small L brackets to affix the hutch to the desk on the inside (unlike the instructions) as there was no way I could move the desk out, with the hutch, to use the larger L brackets supplied and hope to move it back (see my review on the plastic feet on the desk). Not much in the way of storage, but it does make for an attactive "finish" to the desk...I'm still on the fence as to whether or not it's actually worth the time, effort, or even the money.
Comments about Bush® Somerset 71" Hutch, Hansen Cherry Finish:
After purchasing and assembling both the desk & hutch I found out one of our clients would have sold me an office suite from their downsizing. Just knowing that and all the headache assembling the hutch almost made me want to return it all! In addition there just a couple of pieces missing during assembly. Mounting it to the desk was very much a challenge as well.
Comments about Bush® Somerset 71" Hutch, Hansen Cherry Finish:
Unfortunately I had already built the 71" 'L' desk (nice piece, by the way) when I opened the hutch carton and discovered the back was made from cardboard with a patterned overlay. This put this piece into the "not worth any price" category. I would gladly have sprung for more money to have a back made from thin plywood.
No I am sorry but this can not be opened on the other side.

Q:
i saw this desk in-store and the in-store display had a electronics charging station included with the hutch. is this included in the on-line model as well?
