I had already purchased the Bush Furniture Fairview L-shaped desk, hutch, and 2-drawer file cabinet for my home office/guest room. I asked my husband if he wanted a desk at the time, and he said no. 6 months later, he realized he did want his own desk, but the Fairview collection doesn't have any small desks, and we didn't have room for another large L-shaped desk. I found the Stanford desk, and it's almost identical to the Fairview style! We bought it at Staples.com[...]The desk was easy to assemble, and it looks like it's part of the Fairview collection (if you get both in antique black with "cherry" top). We are so pleased with the furniture and with Staples. The only thing to know about this desk is that if you have a desktop computer you plan to put in the computer cabinet, it might not be deep enough. We have the desk against the wall, so my husband just cut a larger opening in the cardboard panel in the back. No problem. If you had the back of the desk facing the room, it could be an issue. The back of this desk is not really attractive. It's really meant to go up against a wall. If you're thinking of leaving the back cardboard piece off entirely, I would not recommend it. That piece is needed for structural integrity. When you hammer it on, make sure it's flush and flat, and don't hammer all of the nails all of the way in right away in case it shifts. Wait until you have it all in place so you can remove some nails and reposition them if necessary.
