I mostly use the printer to print photos. I have been very happy with it. I'm on my second Canon printer and would probably not get anything else the next time I need a printer. I like the price of the cartidges better than other brands and even though the printer is old and cartridges hard to find, Staples always has them for me. There is nothing that isn't great about it.

Too expensive is the bottom line

No matter how many rebates one gets, this stuff is just way too darn expensive. I must remember to set my printer utility to draft mode more frequently to save on ink. Unfortunately, it is not just Canon. Pretty much all major prnter manufacturers charge too much for ink - though some more than others. Of course I have to recommend ink because you can't print without it, but maybe I should try the off brands some day soon.

After trying out the Staples' brand of printer ink, I have decided to go back to using the original Canon ink for my Canon printer. It's more expensive but also more reliable. I had initial good results with the Staple's generic, but the 2nd 3rd cartridges clogged up on me. This actually made it more expensive to use. Only big problem is that this ink is no longer kept in stock at staples and must be special ordered.

It would be quicker if the inks were sold in the Staples stores like before and I could buy them right then and there, instead of having to order the 3 in one ink package. But if it can't be done, it's O.K. I don't mind ordering it.
