Exceptional!

I use this for long-distance and floral shots that I want a lot of detail. It works great for both uses. Easy to focus, lightweight compared to most, and easy to change.

Great pictures but mechanically cheaply

Have had a film Canon SLR for years. Just transitioned to digital. Lens seems cheaply
made. Not a smooth zoom.

Comments about Canon EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III Telephoto Zoom Lens:

This lens surpassed my wildest expectations! I bought it as an upgrade for the stock lens that came with my Rebel XT. Although not light, the pictures are crisp and clear. The focus mechanism is not the fastest, but it is accurate. [...] I purchased this lens at a competitor for about $55.00 less than what [...] was offering it. [...]

Comments about Canon EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III Telephoto Zoom Lens:

I need it to expance my busines. The lens is great but its only as great as the camera behind it. I purchased the canon xti camera for the wide angle len (18-55) 80% of my busines is 18mm. For distant I was using a 12x sony. But I liked the feature of the canon xti for distant. 2nd best camera item purchased, the lens. The 1st was the canon xti. Before digital, all I shot was canon cameras.

When time to upgrade from the stock lens that came with my camera, I chose this one! I am very happy with it! I shopped around and bought it from a competitor of Staples. Staples' price is higher than many other retailers [...]

You get what you pay for. This is a very cheap lense. It's the worst affordable lense I own from Cannon. If your just getting started and not sure if your going to use the camera that often this may be an ok lense. I purchased because I had some coupons. I would not have purchased for the asking price.
