Selected this printer because I wanted primarily a printer/copier. I didn't need or want the FAX capability.

The only disappointment I experienced was when I discovered that the rear paper tray is exclusively for the use of photographic paper. I prefer to use the rear paper tray on a printer. I find they are easier to load and have less misfeeds. Even though I felt that I researched this printer thoroughly, I saw no mention of the limited use of the rear tray.

Otherwise the printer hasmet my expectations.

Removing the printer from the box was easy. I thought I'd have a problem adding the printer to my network, not so, it was a snap. The quality of the photo's is stunning.Can not I repeat can not hear it printing, absolute quiet. It seems in these days products have a hard time meeting expectations. My experience with this printer far exceeded my expectations. Kudos to Staples and Canon for a pleasant shopping experience.

I had read that setup was tedious. Although there were a lot of pages to read, it was thorough and complete instructions. My biggest problem was I did not know my wireless router identifier and password. I finally just continued with the setup and it gave me the correct identifier, I just needed the password. One thing I do not like is that if paper is out in the default lower tray it will not pull the paper from the back feeder since that is the default for a different size paper even though 8 1/2 x 11 paper will fit there.

Since owning this printer, I have printed 60 party invitations and about 100 labels using color and black ink along with some other documents and copies. All ink tanks are still completely full. This printer doesn't use too much ink. It is quiet. It is fast and doesn't make a lot of noise after it is finished printing unlike other products do. You can even put it on a quieter setting but I haven't found a need to do so because it is already very quiet. You can close it up which makes it look nice and protects the openings from dust. When you print, the door will automatically open and spit out your document. To make a copy, the lid will stay up by itself so you can use two hands to put what you are copying on the glass. It does a nice job of double sided printing by itself. You have a choice of whether to use the cassette for the paper or the rear tray. You can change this when you print a document. The screen is large and easy to see. My only complaint is that black print does not look black enough to me when printing on darker scrapbook paper. But, this is a very small problem when everything else is so perfect!
