I liked it immediately and used it a lot soon after receiving. Within a month, zoom lens faultered and batteries exhausted quickly. Use was limited at best.

This was a replacement for a 10-year old compact camera (Olympus). Thought I'd have trouble finding something comparable -- and this little camera is even better! Handles closeups (macros) and distance equally well. I was used to having a viewfinder and thought I'd have trouble adapting to the LCD screen -- but that turned out to be easier than I expected. Battery charges very quickly. Camera connects directly to computer via USB for easy photo upload and editing. I was already familiar with Picture It so use that instead of mfr software -- only problem has been with MicroSoft errors -- my computer still has XP so that may be the problem.

I want to know if the battery needs to be removed to be charged? I also want to know if the charger has a USB charger that can be plugged into my car adapter?

  Yes, the battery needs to be removed from camera for charging. The included charger plus directly into an AC electrical outlet. You would need a mobile power inverter to charge this camera from your car's DC adapter.
