Many of the reviewers mention problems with the battery life. We resolved the issue by buying 4 rechargable batteries and a charger. We keep two in the camera and two in the bag. We think this will resolve the issue for us.
PLEASE NOTE; When you download the software that comes with the camera, there is a camera window that shows battery life. It is not accurate. Your battery may be low, but it will show full. Believe the battery icon on the camera. You do not need to change the battery until your camera says to change the battery. It does not stop shooting, so you can continue with that special shot, then change the battery.
The photos it takes are beautiful. We took some great photos from the window of a moving train!

This camera is easy to use, but the battery life is terrible compared to my Canon PowerShot A620 which takes 4 batteries. I've taken just 80 pictures (and no video) and am on my 3rd set of batteries. I would definitely recommend looking for a camera that takes 4 batteries. Also, I feel like I always miss the shot that I intended to take because there is a short lag time between when I push the button and when the camera actually takes the shot. Also, when using the flash, it takes 7 seconds for the flash to recharge in between pictures. This camera takes nice pictures, the zoom ability is nice, but the aforementioned issues are disappointing. Had I known, I probably would have put the money towards something a little bit better quality.

Very impressed. Some people complained about weak battery life. It was true when I used 2 AA alkaline batteries. But by using rechargeable AA NiMH 2100mA batteries and reducing Lcd screen brightness, I could manage about 200 pictures (many with flash) and many clips of movies (about 40 min total) in one charge.

                This particular camera can use: SD Memory Card, SDHC Memory Card, SDXC Memory Card. For recongnition for your printer I would suggest reading the owners manual or you can upload the pictures on your computer and print them off from there.
