We had an old Canon PC 770 printer that lasted about 15 years...after much research on the others, HP, Brother, etc which had too many issues...for a B & W laser copier i found sticking to a Canon was a best bet. About 5,000 copies per toner i think, i go thru my ink refill place as its the cheapest for toner. Using this machine makes me fill like i am in walk-in printing place as this machine has all the features as the big machines do. WOW! Compact too and we can use the fax and print features for a backup if our other machines die or are not working for some reason which has happened. I stuck with black & white as color copier ink replacments are expensive. Only con is i wish they put the manual feed tray on the right side of the machine, as i have to pull it out everytime to use this feature...but can live with it as i don't use it everytime.

This printer prints good quality documents. However, it requires too many manual steps to print envelopes and letterheads. It does not select the paper automatically from the multi purpose tray. The user needs to manually specify the paper type. The scan speed is extremely slow for color scanning. The double sided document scanning is very clumsy and slow.
Comments about Canon imageCLASS D1150 Multifunction Copier:
I like it but the one thing that upsets me is the scan part. Everything else is network ready except for the scanning. It did not say this in the description that I could see. The scanning has to be attached with a USB to a computer. You cannot use it (scanning) on the network.
Comments about Canon imageCLASS D1150 Multifunction Copier:
I've had my Canon D1150 for about a month now and my experience with it has been entirely positive. It works with Windows 7, yet – you will need to download the drivers yourself. It comes with both a good basic OCR program and remote UI software. Has three manuals – a quick start, a fairly comprehensive booklet and a good online extended version…. Setup is 6.5/10 difficult, only networking the unit should cause any trouble. It's fairly quiet and enters energy saver mode at a touch of a bottom or at a prescribed interval. Full duplex ADF! Excellent output! Good stand alone broadcasting fax. A bit slow as full duplex scanner. For home-office equipment - it's NOT compact. With rebates and price matching a great price can be had!
