This has been superb as a network printer. However, you must upgrade the firmware from the Canon website. A problem I found initially was that the printer would get frozen in its Energy Saver mode. An upgrade in firmware addresses this. An interesting flaw in the firmware with Windows 7 is that it is new, and I kept getting an error that it was not compatable with my operating system (the Canon tech support rep confirmed this). Windows 7 Ultimate and Professional have a virtual Windows XP Mode (download separately from Microsoft). I downloaded the XP firmware and easily updated with that. The canon tech support rep didn't know about that so I had to think of it myself. But it worked beautifully.

Software Incomplete. Network Issues.

*At first I really liked the simplicity of the software especially when compared to the over bloated stuff that HP tends to include. This is a network printer but it does not include software to use the scanner on a network. I called Technical Support at Canon to make sure I wasn't missing anything, but he didn't really have a good explanation and suggested I would have to search for third party software if I wanted to actually scan to my computer. It seems to me that a product should include software to operate all of the hardware.
*Tech Support was really good even though I did not get the answer I was hoping for.
*When it goes into Energy Save mode, nothing I do other than powering it off and back on will wake it up. A print job sent to it does work nor does hitting any button on the control panel. I'm hoping a firmware upgrade remedies this problem. This is very inconvenient when printing from a remote network location.
*Both of these issues may work better when hooked via USB, but I purchased this printer to function on a network and need that functionality.
*I'm also struggling with the duplexing. It does not want to auto duplex from the software. I have to physically change the mode from the printer to get it to work. Also, not very convenient from a remote network computer.
*I know it's a low volume printer, but I wish there was a larger capacity toner option.
*It warms up very quickly.
*Great print quality.
*Operation is much quieter than any of my HP lasers.
*Paper guilds accurate. This seems trivial, but I print labels with my lasers that need to maintain strict margins. My HP's tend to 'self adjust' margins as the paper level in the tray changes. I don't seem to have the same problem with the Canon.
*I would recommend this printer only if you use it direct with USB. It's networking capabilities are lacking and it's software struggles to operate all of the options the printer includes. Why include it if you don't support it?

Bought the MF-4370dn to replace a HP1315 that kept having fax errors, slowing down my business..never had a canon before (have had several HP, usually happy with them)..
this printer is for everyday business printing (sales order, purchase orders, invoicing, faxing) and very important to be reliable....it replaced an HP laser that replaced an HP Officejet when I went to buy the print heads and they were not available locally....
the MF4370dn was a good value and had an instant rebate..easy to hook up thru USB - I did not want to take the time to deal with Network setup yet..works great. Not one fax issue in the few weeks I have been using it and the thing prints very quickly....i was used to sluggish printing from my previous HP's thinking it was a computer issue not the printer...However, the Cannon works great.
If you have not had one, I would suggest this product...I am looking forward to trying out the other features as time allows.

The Network Scanning function is a joke! The scanning software didn't get bundled in with the printer. You have to use 3rd party software to network scan. And the worse part is that you have to walk over to the scanner and tell it that you want network scanning...EVERY TIME.
