A very nice printer in all respects. The driver even allows one to indicate the type of paper being used, so the printer can optimize its output accordingly. It is remarkably quiet in operation and in idle state. I have it in my home office; with the door shut, it does not wake family members.
The product box and website advertise Mac OS X compatibility however, the included CD-ROM only has drivers for MS Windows (nowhere on or in the CD-ROM does it state what operating system it is for). A slip of paper hidden among the numerous other slips of paper and buried beneath the two printed manuals tells one that Mac users must download multiple drivers from Canon's website and install them individually. Simple for me but quite likely difficult and frustrating for a non-techie to deal with. The Mac OS X drivers should be included on the CD-ROM and/or there should be a Read Me file that offers a clickable URL for downloading drivers.
Every laser printer manufacturer charges too much for their toners, Canon is no exception. Since it requires four colors (CMYK), one set of toner can cost nearly as much as the printer itself. Can't Canon offer the toners for *under* $100 each?

Good small office printer/scanner/coppie
You can't scan directly from the this, first you need to set "Remote scanning" from the Printer. Brother is much better.

Comments about Canon imageCLASS MF8380Cdw Color Laser Multifunction Printer:
This is really first class equipment and well worth the money. The functionality is well thought out and the engineering is supurb. Best of all, the telephone support is very responsive and capable.
The starter cartridges for the Canon imageCLASS MF8380Cdw Color Laser Multifunction Printer will last for about 50-75 prints, depending on density coverage.

Q:
Does this printer have a stack bypass to print from? If not would someone recommend a all in one laser that has a stack bypass. We print from cardstock and thicker paper and sometimes doesn't feed through the tray. Thanks...
This MF8380Cdw includes a 250-sheet cassette, 50-sheet multipurpose tray, and an optional 250-sheet cassette for your convenience. As per Canon this printer has a multipurpose tray that is separate from the cassette which holds regular paper. The multipurpose optional tray is designed to hold enveloped or the heavier paper, and different sized media. Yes this printer can print and feed though from cardstock and thicker paper, you simply have to change the setting on printer.
