This kettle is great. Pleasing to the eye and boils water exceptionally well and fast. Will never go back to a kettle that uses the stove to boil water. This also has an automatic shut off, no more boiled dry kettles!

I'm annoyed that a concept like this has been so cheaply manufactured and badly detailed for the sake of style and price point. The clear glass is high quality and a great asset in the kitchen - you can see how much water is in there, measure and boil as much as you need. 2 stainless steel screws hold the thin plastic handle to the glass body. The screws will last a lifetime, the plastic handle and chrome paint (that peels off the dome) have deteriorated and softened and the screws no longer hold the unit together. The handle is coming apart and will separate from the glass and there will be an accident involving scalding water. I think the unit is unsafe after using it a year or so, and I will have to replace it.

Third Capresso Water Kettle purchased one for a Christmas present to my Mother in Law, she loves it for instant coffee, one for my home, tea and coffee water, and one for my office. All units do what they were made to do produce boiling water and cut the pot off when the job is done.
