I do a lot of networking. The business card scanner let's me easily organize my business cards and syncs with my outlook contacts. Unless the business card is really fancy or dark, there is very little time spent verifying the information. Highly recommend - it's a time saver!

Sometimes confused by graphic elements. I would be nice if it capitalized the first letter of each word on cards that use all lower case fonts.

Comments about CardScan Personal Business Card Scanner v9:

Scan your business contacts' cards and save them to Microsoft Outlook. It's a great concept and for the most part it works well. You can scan both sides of a card, making it easy to transfer hand-written notes, etc. Be aware that it does not read some ornate fonts and is easily confused by creative logos. You need to proofread every line and manually fix items that were mis-read. Ultimately, it might be quicker to type the card's information into the computer, but using the CardScan is much more fun.

I wish I could have given a review based on actually using the product, but I can't since it didn't work with my mac in spite of the Q&A on staples.com stating it would. Very disappointed at the huge jump in price for the model that dymo said would work with a mac.

What is the scan deliery method - is it sheet/card fed? Or do you manually have to put the card in top scan it (similar to a flat bed scanner)?
Asked on 4/12/2013 by Timothy Barre from Graniteville, VT

                          1 answer

                          • A:

This card scanner has a lid, which needs to be opened before scanning the card. The card is then fed into the device. It is more like a feeder, and not a flat bed scanner.

Otherwise - is the native software something of a CRM solution?

The CardScan will not directly support ACT software. The included software does function as a basic CRM solution, but not on the level of the ACT application.
