Sometimes confused by graphic elements. I would be nice if it capitalized the first letter of each word on cards that use all lower case fonts.

Scan your business contacts' cards and save them to Microsoft Outlook. It's a great concept and for the most part it works well. You can scan both sides of a card, making it easy to transfer hand-written notes, etc. Be aware that it does not read some ornate fonts and is easily confused by creative logos. You need to proofread every line and manually fix items that were mis-read. Ultimately, it might be quicker to type the card's information into the computer, but using the CardScan is much more fun.

I wish I could have given a review based on actually using the product, but I can't since it didn't work with my mac in spite of the Q&A on staples.com stating it would. Very disappointed at the huge jump in price for the model that dymo said would work with a mac.

After reading many reviews of many card scanners I chose this one because of the good value, it had all teh qualities I needed (specifically sync to Microsoft Outlook) and was a good price. There were no reviews yet so I was taking a chance, but I love it. It took less than ten minutes to set up and install the software. And it scans the cards quickly and accurately. It syncs them very easily with Microsoft Outlook. So glad I bought this one and not one of the way more expensive ones that had bad reviews anyway.

  Yes, in addition to sorting text from the business card and merging with Outlook contacts, a photo/scan of the business card is saved. The Product Tour link on the Staples site is very informative.

  Yes, as long as both you and your manager are using Microsoft Outlook (32-bit versions only), you can have CardScan's contacts sync from your PC to his/her PC. You can visit DYMO's support page, and search information on setting up Delegation rights.

  With the CardScan Personal, you will able to synchronize contacts directly with Microsoft Outlook up to 2010 32-bit. You can export from CardScan vCards and CSV files that you can use to import into Google Contacts and many other contact management systems. There is also Blackberry Connector software which you can purchase. This will allow you to sync contacts directly from the CardScan software to your Blackberry device.
