Comments about ClearSounds CSC1000 Amplified FreedomTalk Telephone:

I purchased this phone for my active 85 year old dad who won't admit to hearing issues. As his main phone he gave my "requirements;Big buttons, good sound,1 button answering machine. there is also an option to use your phone co. VM. ther phone had much more. One button dial buttons (push buttons for 10 different #) so he doesn't need to hit more buttons to scroll through address book for high usage numbers. easy retrieval for logged CID. Easy to use address book.Optional talking/Call announce so he doesn't need to run to the phone to see who is calling especially like a poller or telemarketers who he avoids. Easy switch to call waiting and back. Nice Speaker phone and phone design. Simple learning. Easy for him to use phone options. Though I programmed address book and quick dial this was very simple too. We set up special rings for family members and another for close friends. I bought 5 other phones and returned. This one is a winner!!and he can clearly hear callers. Features are extremely easy and simple for him to use.The 10 speed dial buttons are designed to use pictures but for now we just added names. Thank you Staples for offering this phone, prices were much higher on other Internet sites.

Comments about ClearSounds CSC1000 Amplified FreedomTalk Telephone:

This really was a bad choice. I should never have purchased this telephone. The details/ad/contents sheet for this telephone misrepresents what it really is. It claims as one of its features "talking caller ID" without letting the buyer know that he must subscribe to a local ID service in order to use this feature. This really was not even the phone I was searching. One week earlier I was seeking a Phone Mate type of phone (one with a built-in feature to record conversations without an external recording device) in which I could take dictation over the phone and not have to type fast but just let the phone pick up all the voice data for playback and eventual transcription once off the phone. Staples referred me to a special company that sells phones only through online redirect, which I scoped out and made a mental note of but decided to wait to make the purchase. When I went back a week later, I could not find it and after two hours worth of research just decided on this talking caller ID phone, which I know does not have the recording feature like the old Phone Mates, but it could at least not require extra charges in order to use a caller ID feature that was presumably built in with the purchase of the phone. My recommendation: do not buy this phone. There is not much difference between this and the old, black, steel ones our grandmothers rented from the phone companies for decades.
