It took a bit to get one without a crushed edge along the bottom. I don't think the damage was done in shipping. Seemed more likely they had been stored on edge with too much weight on top of them. But Staples arranged for a replacement product delivered to my door ... twice. 3rd time was the charm!

I am a language arts teacher and always have assignments to correct. I wanted a large surface to correct papers in my livingroom while watching television with my family in the evenings. This allows me that opportunity. It is comfortable in my lap and nicely designed. It has a large surface that can easily fit an answer sheet next to the student papers. It is portable; however, it does not fold up. So it needs a closet, etc. to be stored in. I also use the lap desk when I am using my laptop computer.

Attractive, sturdy and comfortable. The easy grip handle makes it simple to tote from the bedroom to the living room to the patio or anywhere you want to be comfortable while you read, write or surf the internet. My only complaint, where as the high-gloss finish looks beautiful, anything that does not have a rubber base such as a ceramic coffee mug will slide right off unless you are very careful. This can be easily remedied with a small piece of rubber shelf-liner but you could be cleaning a mess if you don't have some handy. All in all my wife and I are very happy with our lap desk.

Paper seems to stick to the board, which is very handy. It's like some kind of static that holds the paper in place as you write. I love this product. I can sit comfortably in any chair or even in bed and do my homework.
