These speakers are attractive, small,lightweight, and easy to set up. I paid a sale price, which I considered acceptable, but I think the regular price is too much for this quality. They do not have much power, so you need to listen at nearly max volume to enjoy the sound. Also, bass response is not stellar, and I suspect the high end frequencies are also probably challenged. So these are not good for serious listening. I consider the speakers to be acceptable for a laptop or desktop PC in a small room for background listening, which is how I use them, or perhaps for a child's computer system.

I had recently replaced my old PC with a new HP p6-2326s and soon discovered that my old speakers produced a constant background "hum". Switching to Cyber-Acoustics Desktop Speakers solved the problem and significantly improved the overall quality of the audio on my system.

These speakers were purchased as replacements to sit our church Office Manager's desk. She enjoys listening to internet streamed music and NPR from time to time. These are basic PC speakers with medium quality sound, response, and range. The price was ok for this quality. The only difficulties I had with the speakers were locating and pricing them from the display markings. The speaker display was relegated a place away from the PCs and the like in an aisle totally unrelated. I would never have thought to look for them in the aisle with paperclips and fasteners. The store staff here is extremely helpful though and pointed me directly to the speakers. The display was a mess in relation to shelf markings. None of the speakers were in their assigned spot and I never did find this speaker's SKU listed on the shelves. When I went to the register for checkout, I thought I was paying $25.95 for these, but ended up paying something less than $20 which was good for me. 1/2 volume with the PC at 1/2 is about all these speakers can handle. Anything more than that and I am concerned for their safety? For our small office they are good. Listening to serious music......you receive that for which you pay.

I purchased this amplified speaker system, 2 piece system 2.0. I was using my old speakers from Windows 7 XP which did not provide me with the quality of sound I wanted. I have the new Windows 8 and even with the volume turned up I did not have the output I wanted. I had to strain to hear anything. Now that I have the new speakers and they are hooked up properly, I need to turn down the volume on the speakers as they are really loud. I am so happy to be able to hear music and books without straining. I would buy these speakers again and recommend them to others. Thank you. Nancy
