I bought these speakers to use at work so I could listen to my MP3 player. For the price, the sound quality is outstanding. The highs and mid-range come through nicely with the two speakers and the bass is loud & clear. Unless you're looking to rock the house, these speakers are perfect! No need to spend more money.

Good sound quality but very susceptible to distortion from out-side electronic interference such as cell phones, battery back-up / power strip units, etc.

its small, cheap and easy to install. If you really like to listen to music I would suggest a better system but its OK for movies and general work.

  This speaker system will work with Windows XP, and does not need a USB. They connect to your computer using a 3.5mm audio outlet. If it's loudness you want, you will need more then 5 watts.

  The answer provided is incorrect. I just bought this item, and the subwoofer plugs in through an "output" on the back of the right speaker. So you can use with or without the subwoofer. It sounds horrible when you unplug the subwoofer though. And if you weren't gonna use the subwoofer, might as well buy speakers without it.
