After a while lugging around a laptop and heavy speakers for workshops gets old. These travel well, fold very flat, lock face-to-face magnetically, and sound good enough. The travel bag that comes with it could be of better design and the connection wiring could (should!) be a little longer. But generally I am pleased with the price/performance offered by these speakers.

      My speakers on my computer were so low I had to wear headphones to listen to the movies I would watch and it restricted me to the computer and I could not move around. The sound is so clear and the magnet that makes the speakers attach to each other when transporting around is such a pluse.

          I find that laptops, netbooks etc are often short on audio level unless used in a quiet or very small area. Something that will simply address this frequent problem is very useful. However, I find these speakers do not have sufficient output for some of the situations I would like to use them in. I have other alternatives such as the Goal Zero self powered speaker that has much more output and needs no USB power. If your audio needs are only a little above what your unit provides, you may well be happy with the result provided by these speakers. If you're in my situation, consider something with more output. If these guys are on sale they do represent a good value.

            I travle the state doing seminars and rallies. I find that in some places there are no microphones. This is where the speaker system does it's job. I am having success using this set of speakers

            I need external speakers for listening to downloaded classes. Could have used headphones but then I'm tethered to my laptop. I reviewed many speakers and my goal was quality then price.

            Some of the reviews suggested that they buzzed or hummed, but I've not had this experience and I'm picky. If this had happened, I would have returned them.

            They are portable, easy to set up and the plug in to each speaker is the base. One note of caution. If you lift the speaker while it's plugged in, it will most likely disconnect. Other than this minor issue, I would highly recommend.

                Yes, but the USB will only power the speakers, not drive sound through them. To get sound from the Xbox to the speakers you will need adapters.

                Because they are magnetically shielded this should protect your monitor and PC, I would suggest being careful and not leaving it directly on or beside your PC/Monitor though.

                I don't think the sound would carry that far - for me, that is a plus because I am using them at my desk and computer and I do not want to disturb my coworkers but I I don't think I would get much benefit from a TV unless you sit very close to the TV.

                Since the power for these speakers comes from a USB outlet, the likelihood of your 19 inch flat screen having such an outlet is
                quite low. However, using a USB adapter that comes with a
                lot of the new "Smart Phones" will suffice for the power and then
                all you need do is plug the speaker's mini plug into the tv's earphone jack and you are THERE.
