Defender’s Gatekeeper, GK300-7M2, is a hands free 2-wire indoor/outdoor color video intercom system. Setup is extremely easy due to the simple 2-wire design that can work with your existing doorbell wiring. The GK300-7M2 provides security as well as convenience. It can make you feel more secure when you or your children have to open the door for strangers, and will allow you to multitask freely. The convenient, compact system uses both video and audio to alert you when someone comes to your door. Hands free operation allows you to see and hear who is at your entrance before deciding whether or not you want to answer. You will be able to see and communicate with them from the safety of inside your home. This system is an effective and simple addition to any existing security system, and gives you an extra eye when protecting your property. Now you will always be aware of what is happening at your business or home entranceway with the night vision camera that allows you to see in the dark, up to 8ft away.       Very fast and easy installation. Took about 20 minutes from start to finish. I would like it to have a larger field of view, but it works fine.No way to hook it up to the existing doorbell button. The doorbell button is on the camera unit and that has to be at least 5 feet high so I will have to wait to see if people can find the button. I can see someone in front of the door and also in the street. My wife has been wanting something like this and it was the most reasonably price unit I could find.

      It should need wider angle lens. after install the intercom, I couldn't see the person's face.
      so I moved around, still I couldn't.

        Very straight forward to install. The only skills you would really need is how to use a screwdriver. I would worry about using existing wiring however. Not sure what would happen if the wire gauge got smaller than the wire that came with the unit. Works very well and good quality picture. My only complaint (which got me online to write this review) is that the camera has a VERY narrow field of vision. You need to be pretty much standing right in front of it. We mounted it at the height of an "average" person. We are not able to see faces if the person is very short or tall. If someone was standing next to the person ringing the bell, chances you would not see them. I cannot believe that given this company's work with cameras, a wider angle lens could not be installed. This is a big enough issue that I would probably try to find another option. As always, do your research. [...]

            I bought this for my mother, as she is getting older sometimes she becomes afraid when someone knocks on the door or she hears noise in front of the house. I set it up myself without any problems. It is easy for her to operate, and she feels more comfortable in her home. She loved it when we changed the chime to Jingle Bells over Christmas! I would recommend this item to anyone with aging parents, actually I might even get one for myself!

              My daughter bought it for me and had no problems installing it herself. Sometime I get nervous when someone comes to my door, this way I can see who is there, and decide if I want to answer. It was nice to have the chime changed to jingle bells over Christmas, when my friends dropped in they all thought it was a hoot! I think everyone especially seniors should get one!
