Q: Actually a couple of questions. Hopefully some fast answers since the sale on this laptop ends in 3-4 days. Much appreciate any help here. When comparing this pc with the Dell i17RN-3647BK, I found slight differences in wording that I did not understand. 1)Battery Type - "6-Cell, LION, Primary Battery" AS TO "6-cell lithium-ion battery"?? 2)Operating System - "Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium, 64-Bit" AS TO "Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit)"?? 3) Network Card - "802.11 (b/g/n)" AS TO "Integrated ethernet" 4) Hard Drive - "750GB 5400rpm" AS TO "500GB SATA" Yes, I know the GB is the size but why rpm and SATA?? Seriously, what are these differences please???? Asked on 5/21/2012 by dlm from Fort Pierce, Florida Know the answer? Answer this question 1 answer A: To answer your questions, first "LION" is an abbreviation for "lithium ion", so the two mean the same thing. Secondly, genuine Windows software is produced by Microsoft, so both phrases refer to the same software. Third, 802.11 is a set of standards for implementing wireless internet services, while integrated Ethernet would refer to a port in which an Ethernet cable would be plugged-in to provide Internet services. These terms apply to different functionality of the same network card. Finally, rpm stands for "revolutions per minute" and describes the speed of the hard drive, its common for hard drives to have 5400rpm, but there are some drives which function faster at 7200rpm. SATA stands for Serial ATA and describes how the hard drive is connected to the motherboard of the computer. SATA drives are standard and have in general replaced the older IDE hard drives. Q: Im skeptical about the price of this dell inspiron with intel i5 processor, 17.3" display, 8GB memory, 750GB hard drive - so Im looking for the catch here, and I noticed the specifications does not list a webcam or how many of what size USB ports??? The picture shows webcam but im not convinced until its listed in the "tech specs". Thank youu Asked on 2/18/2012 by nurse nerd from northeastern woods Know the answer? Answer this question 3 answers A: I was a little skeptical myself, but I verified this is a second gen i5 processor and comes with HDMI,eSATA, 2 USB 3.0 and 1 USB 2.0 ports. The 360 degree view isn't quite accurate as the back only has the VGA and Ethernet ports, everything else is on the sides. It also has a webcam. So far I am very impressed with this laptop. The 8GB of RAM is shared with video, but it is still plentiful. The screen is limited to 720p, but I don't need 1080p so I didn't care.
