I print a LOT of photos, and frame and hang them.

I'm having to do a lot of printhead cleaning - don't know if it's because of the color or the black ink, or if it's just the printer - but I never had to do that before.

Unhappy with Dell printers

Dell printers are cheaper than HP but you pay for it with a very short cartridge life which mirrors the razor/razor blade marketing approach. They could afford to give you a free printer for the money earned on the cost of the ink. I am concerned about the compatibility of the cheaper/off brand refill cartridges with the printer to use them. This review holds for the black cartridges also.

Since color is usually not needed for most of my written documents, why not make the black and white cartridge large and the color cartridge small instead of the opposite? Or at least, not inhibit the use of black once the color is used up. Also, it would be nice if there was a signal when ink is about to run out so more could be purchased ahead of time and I don't get stuck in the middle of copying. This is very frustrating... especially when something is important and needs to be done immediately.

was unable to buy in store. was only able to get online. Was told in store that my printer "was too old". But ordering online, got it in 2 days. Go figure

I had purchased these for my printer before I had expected. The ones that came with my printer did not last and print was not good. These, after I received them, went in easily and have been printing fine. I hope they last longer than the first set and that the continue to print well. I believe that the ones that came with the printer were defective or old because they lasted less than 6 months and I do not print much.
These work fine and have had no problem yet. It did take longer to receive because I ordered online and had them shipped to store.
