I am a grandma of 7, ranging 1 to 16 years in age. Then photos, and greating cards, mean a lot to all of us. The clarity, and bright color make it that much more enjoyable. I wish I could get more than one event out of a cartige.

when I put it in the color slot, where it seemed like it should fit. But this "photo" cartridge actually replaces the black, not the colored cartridge (go figure). You still need a separate color cartridge to print photos. It took me a call to the Dell tech support site in the Phillipines to get that information, and the first person to answer didn't know it - I had to ask for his supervisor.
I don't know why they don't call it "Photo Black"; that would eliminate a lot of confusion. But at least I could get it (and the new color cartidge I actually needed) at the local Staples store, instead of having to wait for Dell to ship it to me...
Comments about Dell® Series 5 (J4844) Photo Ink Cartridge:
The cartridge DOES indeed fit into "Dell All-in-One Machines 922, 924, 942, 944, 946, 962, 964"
In order to print photos, you have to REPLACE the black cartridge with the photo cartridge. This is why the Photo cartridge will not fit into the color slot, it does not go there. The reason you replace the black cartridge is the photo cartridge contains the light cyan, light magenta, and photo black inks. When used with the standard color cartridge this gives you the full photo spectrum.
All brands of printers that utilize a photo cartridge work this way, including HP.

Comments about Dell® Series 5 (J4844) Photo Ink Cartridge:
Someone should contact Dell/Lexmark about this issue. It would save people a lot of time and aggravation. I had to try to figure out why the machine would not accept the ink and then realized the notches on the top of the cartridge are on the wrong side preventing the case from closing. Then I had to return it to Staples [...]
