I got this pencil to mark in my scriptures and that means very thin, show-through paper. This pencil is great, except it is very soft and has to be sharpened often. The lead falls apart when sharpened. It has a much better, ease-of-writing, though than the Prismacolor col-erase pencil does.

Don't bother to order these!
These pencils are awful. I'm lucky if I get to write 2 words without these points breaking. Sometimes the points just disintigrate as I write.

These are terrible pencils. The lead breaks constantly, making it impossible to mark corrections cleanly. I threw out an entire package of these pencils and am now looking for another brand to buy.[...]

This is a terrible product. It is incredibly frustrating writing with these since the lead keeps breaking. The tip does not stay sharp for very long and constantly needs to be resharpened. UGH!!!!!
Comments about Dixon Ticonderoga® Erasable Colored Pencils, Red, Dozen:
The very first pencil the eraser fell out. The pencil lasted maybe one week because every time I used it the lead broke. The reason we use red is so that draftsmen can easily find the mark-ups, but this red is often so light that mark-ups are overlooked. We bought several packages after the first group were so bad, and there was a minisule improvement in the next group. Staples normally has decent products, but this is one product I will not buy again.

We purchased these pencils for marking up CAD drawings. Normally we use Prismacolor Col-Erase Pencils but decided to try the Dixon-Ticonderoga's. That was a mistake. The points break almost instantly if you apply any pressure to them. Back to the Prismacolor pencils for us...
