I have used this size pencil for years. I love #3 or #4 lead. Since they don't make #4 anymore, I use #3. I don't have to always sharpen my pencil for a point. I can write quite a bit without having to always sharpen my pencil for a point after every other word! Love it!!!!!

I didn't realize I puchased #3 pencils
I bought these for school use, but did not realize at the time that they were #3, not #2. I guess I just assumed incorrectly.

Comments about Dixon Ticonderoga® Pencils, #3 Hard, Dozen:
After trying lots of bargain pencils, I prefer Ticonderogas for my drawing needs. They have great erasers, write easily and have dark enough lead for me to see. Also, when I sharpen them, the lead doesn't break off in pieces. Love these pencils!

I used #4 pencils for a long time starting when I worked in a Harvard Square stationer's. When those became difficult (if not impossible) to find, I switched to # 3's and have been really pleased.

my grandchildren always ask for the ticonderoga #2 pencils for their school work or for home use. They say they love the way they write. And sharpening is as easy too! They also erase very well with hardly a mark when done.
