The laminate was used to "water proof" printed signs on foam board for an outdoor event. After 2 hours of strong thunder storms and heavy rain the signs were in great shape.

After cutting the laminate to size it was hard to get the backing started to expose the adhesive. Since the backing was one solid piece using the product to cover a large sign requires two people. The product would be easier to use if the backing had a seam down the middle.

      Comments about Duck® Clear Laminate, 18" x 8 Yards:

This product did not meet my expectations. I was hoping for something with a little more sticking power and less matte.

        Comments about Duck® Clear Laminate, 18" x 8 Yards:

I enjoy doing scrap booking and sometimes I make the book so full that the plastic cover that comes with it does not fit anymore. I needed something to protect the books outsides and keep it clean and wanted something that also showed the design on the book. This product is perfect! I will always keep some on hand for anything I need to protect.

bought this product to reduce some of the damage soft cover textbooks experience during a semester of heavy use. very easy to apply. not so sticky that it cant be removed. not sure how it will perform yet but it seems i could remove old application and repeat if necessary.

                A:

Yes, the laminate can be applied to a poster or sign that will be outside. The laminate will lock out water. However, the item is not intended for outdoor use so it may do hold up as long. Please note the laminate must be applied indoors at a temperature of 40 degrees or high. not wide enough to do a fairly sized poster or sign. you end up woth a seam. will crack if left in reall hot sun (over 100) for extended period of time but will do a decent job of keeping moisture (rain, dew) off the item.
