                The item is designed so that the detachable cigarette lighter charger fits into the plastic housing for the AC charger; however, the plastic on the AC charger is so weak, and the item so poorly designed, that the plastic cracked on the charger after 2 weeks (and only about 6 uses). This charger won't last for any reasonable period under normal usage. Better design and materials are needed.

                    No this charger won't charge an iPad. This charger can only output 500 mAh, which is the same as a standard USB port. A standard USB port doesn't output enough power to charge an iPad.
