I found this to be an excellent monitor stand. It is engineered well, is plenty sturdy, and has multiple height possibilities. It is also priced less than the others.

This advertises itself as 13+ inches wide, but the important measurement -- that of underneath the stand (that's why you're buying the stand, right, to put things underneath) -- is much smaller. With the legs on, you have less than 11 inches in width. You can't fit a laptop underneath, which is what I need.
