We used this for holding up temporary signs, both laminated and regular paper. Staples only seems to sell two brands of ticky-tack: their own (which is white) and this one by Elmer's (which is orange). I've tried both, and Elmer's is better by far!!! I would not recommend the Staples brand one at all. (But I the one I recommend the most is a blue one that is sold elsewhere.:)

My principal requires that we use this particular adhesive to hang anything on the painted surfaces of our classrooms. It really doesn't work all that well. Anything laminated is too heavy for this adhesive; it just keeps falling off of the wall. After several "re-hangings" the stuff just gets full of dust, debris, etc and stops working at all. I would probably use something else if I could.

    I use this to hang lightweight decorations in my home. When I was teaching, I used it in all the classrooms as nails, hangers, etc were not allowed. I mainly use the putty in dollhouses for my granddaughters and myself so we can change decorations as we wish without harming the paint. Not only does it protect the paint but it leaves no residue.

        I have tried what I like to call "blue tack" in the past, and it worked so well! I have now tried a white one and this one, and neither had very good adhesive properties. I really do wish Staples would carry the blue one, but I don't know what particular brand it was. Dang.
