              My 16 year old came home from school with a request for a 8GB flash drive, required for her graphics class. I always start my office supply shopping with Staples, because I am generally very pleased with the prices, selection, and customer service. Therefore, I went to Staples, and found these adorable animal motif flash drives, along with cartoon character and skateboard flash drives. This drive was more expensive by I think, $4 after all the discounts and coupons, then the plain rectangle 8GB drive in the nearby display, but my 22 year old daughter shopping with me pointed out that an animal character flash drive would be a lot easier to keep up with, because it would be admired and valued more by my 16 year old. It involved a bit of discussion as to which character would be most appreciated, but I bought the elephant, brought it home, and gave it to my 16 year old. Her face lit up; she said, 'it's adorable!', and actually, that was worth $4 to me. So the functionality of the product piqued my interest, but the cute factor sold me. Price is not always the only motivating factor in purchasing for me.
