    As a retired professional photographer, I appreciate quality prints. As someone who does a wide range of adventure travel, I like to be able to output large prints of my adventures for framing to hang about my home. While I have only printed four 13X19 and three 11X17prints since purchasing the Artisan 1430, they surpass those made by the competitor's large format printer it replaces -- no mean feat! While I notice that the saturation on a couple of the prints doesn't acheive the density of the same pictures printed off my Epson Stylus Photo 200 as 8x10s, I'm confident that is just a matter of tweaking settings. The difference is so slight, less discerning eyes may not detect it unless they saw the prints side by side. Install was quick and easy. I output through USB cable through a USB hub without any problems. It's a great printer at a great price.

    I have purchased this printer because of the price. The quality of the prints are good, however it is very slow. The wireless option is not working correctly. If you want to print a bigger picture (8x11) its stops in middle of the print. I have tried everything. In the end I had to reinstall the drivers and set it up as a "wired" printer. If you can live without the wireless option I recommend this printer, because there is no other printer with the quality of the prints in this price range.

    I had been using the Epson R1800 for years, it was an exceptional printer. Didn't think I would find one to match it. The Artisan 1430 was easy to install, and it matches up to the R1800 in the beautiful vibrant colors printed. It is a great printer.

    I've only had the 1430 for a couple of weeks now, but am very happy with it. I've always had Epson printers, right now I also have the Stylus Photo R430 and the Artisan 725 for everyday printing, but I wanted a printer that could print scrapbook pages. The 1430 does an exceptional job with this-my husband says they look like professional prints. I purchased the Epson paper, along with another brand, and both work perfectly. If you are planning on printing scrapbook pages, go for at least the luster paper, the matte looks good, but luster looks better. All in all, I'm very happy with this printer. Going to get the 13x19 photo paper to print some BIG pictures!

    Great printer

    the Aritsan 1430 is a super printer. It is not an ink hog, but does produce stunning pictures. There is one problem, however. In the printer preferences if you just set your quality to "photo" in either the main tab or the advanced tab, when you are done it reverts to "draft". I spent a long time with tech support yesterday and they finally were able to reproduce the bug on several of their computers in addition to our two. Now that they are aware of the bug, they will get it fixed. When the update comes out I will consider this a 5 star printer as I have all my Epson printers over the years. They have far surpassed their competition in printer quality and technical support.

    Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
