Several years ago I purchased an Infocus X1 for use as an Entry level home theatre setup. It was DLP. Color wheel eventually broke. No parts to repair. After searching & reading reviews on several brands, it was decided to purchase the Epson EX6220 based partially on cost and feature set. As a result, we have not been disappointed. The picture quality and screen resolution is exceptional. Works with our DirecTV and Blu-Ray consoles. Using a 3rd party sound amplifier there simply is no reason to spending $15-20 for movie tickets and at least that much at the concession stand and we get 5.1 surround sound. The thrown picture is crisp, clean and sharp. We display on a 120" diagonal screen. Room or surroundings do not have to dark. Picture is clear even at sharp viewing angles. The projector fan is reasonably quiet, especially in the ECO mode and in ECO mode, the colors and overall display is still bright. Easy to set up, leave up or store away. Quality construction, nice full-featured remote, EZ start and shutdown. Nice keystone adjustments and for computer display, built-in speaker is adequate. Connectivity is plug and play and straight forward. In our estimation - worthy of 5 stars for quality, performance and expectation. Bottomline - very happy with our selection.

Comments about Epson WXGA Widescreen 3LCD 3000 Lumens Projector (EX6220):

Ordered and received at the local Staples store. Staff very helpful in explaining how to order and getting it to me very promptly. It even arrived one day early. Store called and I picked up. Epson EX6220 is exactly what it is described. Quick startup/shutdown. Extremely bright projection, even in a well lit room. It came with CD and quick setup chart, bag and all the cables needed to setup USB or VGA connections. If you want HDMI, you will need to purchase a separate cable. For Powerpoint programs it was not needed. The projector is smart enough and has a "Source Search" button to find what type of connection you are using. Just press and it will select the one that is there. Found one quirk with windows 8. You start the windows 8 all the way to the desktop. You start the projector, and then physically make the USB connection and it acknowledges it is there. I am new to projector and needed to use it within a day, but plan on reading the online manual to better acquaint myself with it. But for quick and easy setup, I cannot say enough good things about it. Very easy to do. There is a also a very helpful "?" right on the projector when you are using it.
