It is much less expensive to just replace the single color you need (apx. $9.99) then to replace an entire tri-color cartridge ($30+ for some printers) and waste ink. I was concerned about the paper standing up in the back since my experience in the past was PAPER JAMS!! So far, not with this great little printer. My only criticism is the noise when it starts up, but it doesn't last long and it's not as loud as my last (another popular manufacturer) printer. Bottom line: I am very pleased with my purchase. We found it for 1/3 off of the price we had seen it in other stores during a sale at Staples. It works just as well as our old printer (which was pretty expensive) so we are happy with it!
