I have had the same Epson printer for over ten years and have been very pleased with it (Epson Stylus C62). I have printed photos as well as daily documents. They all have turned out to my satifaction. I have been happy with the life of the ink for both black and color.

My need for a printer can be intermittent. When I haven't used it in a while, I often have to clear the jets several times to get the ink to print properly. I also suspect the cartridge has a shorter useful life if you let it sit unused a while. Annoying, but not a fatal flaw.
In general the Epson printer makes nice quality prints of about anything.
