    The 77 series cartridges are made for heavy use, and was going through the standard 78 colors as much as 2X a month.

    What's not great about them is that they are considerably more expensive, and not all the colors are available separately. In addition, you can't buy them in store, only online.

      I was not able to get the Black 77 cartridge that is high capacity, so had to settle for the Epson 78 Black Ink Cartridges, which has much less ink and has to be changed too often.

      These inks last much longer than the 78 series inks, about twice as long. Insalling the ink cartridges is very easy and clean, For a few dollars more it's a no brainer, it is well worth it.

          Photos print so well because there are 5 colors blending instead of only 3 in a cartridge containing just cyan, yellow and magenta. Also, in a cartridge with the 3 colors, there may be still a lot of 2 or 1 colors left, when just one is depleted. Since there are six different color cartridges, you only have to replace the empty one, not wasting ink still left in the 3 color cartridge.
