Workforce Pro WP-4540

This Workforce Pro WP-4540 is state of the art equipment. It is very economical, fast and versatile. I was original looking for a Laser jet but found this to be the perfect alternative. This machine is fast, easy setup and can handle any job! It does have a large footprint so keep that in mind if replacing a ink jet printer but if your replacing a large Laser jet, this is a perfect choice. I chose the 4540 instead of the 4530 because I wanted the extra paper feed, 580 instead of 330. If the additional paper feed is not an issue, you can save some money with the 4530.

This is not a good choice for a busy office as simple task take to long and require "baby sitting" For example, to make a simple b/w copy requires 3 or more button pushes with pause in between. Sending a .jpg to computer requires you to go to the printer for inputs and then back to the computer work station. Very frustrating. 800 help line poor.

At time of sale I purchased extra ink 4ea. all colors needed to be replaced before I could proceed. When I shook them you could feel the lack of ink moving back and forth. also the black ink showed half empty. I finished the instal by puting in the ink that came with the unit and it shows all full. The real problem here is that I install Tech daily and this happened at both Staples and Office Depot who they tell me never see the sales Rep in their store. So I'm not sure how to get ink and let it sit on my shelf ready, if I'm not sure they are full and need to be returned. I'm stumped!!
