Ideal for the space-constrained home office, the WorkForce WF-2540 is a fast, high-performance all-in-one that offers affordable, individual ink cartridges and a space saving, compact design - the smallest in its class. Featuring a 2.5" LCD for easy navigation, the WF-2540 saves time with fast speeds of 9 ISO ppm (black) and 4.7 ISO ppm (color), plus a convenient, 30-page Automatic Document Feeder. The WF-2540 comes with both wired and built-in wireless connectivity for easy setup and sharing on your network. And, it includes EPSON Connect™ so you can print and scan from anywhere.

Multifunction Capability
The Epson Workforce can produce colorful prints at a speed of 4.7 pages per minute and black-and-white documents at a speed of nine pages per minute when working in either the printer or copier modes. The printer is also capable of sending and receiving faxes with a fax speed of 33.6 Kbps. For inputting documents, the all-in-one device contains a flatbed scanner, which can save color scans of documents to your system.

Network Ready
The Workforce is ready for networking, with an included wired Ethernet adapter that can be used to connect with a wired router or hub and a wireless 802.11 b/g/n adapter that can connect with a wireless router. After connection, any computer also present on the network can use the device. For those wishing to use the printer with a single computer, a USB interface is included.

Mobile Device Support
The printer can be used with a variety of mobile devices, from smartphones to tablets. It can also utilize Apple AirPrint technology to allow you to print directly from an Apple handheld device. If the printer is connected to the Internet, you can print documents from the Web directly to your printer no matter where your computer is located by using Google Cloud Print.

WorkForce=WorkHorse of a printer

I like this printer so much, even though, I think its construction could have been a little better, it is more towards the middle of the road, rather than flimsy construction. However, it is strong in all other areas. I got so much for what I paid for this printer. Its functions far surpass my expectations. This is just a plain wonderful working copier, scanner and printer.

Overall good printer for ...

Overall good printer for home or small business. More features and capabilities than most printers in the price point. Difficult and time consuming to set up wireless network or make network changes. Setup with CD also too time consuming. Poor paper feed adjustments for smaller size prints such as photo paper, paper tray on model xp-600/800 are much better.

This was another print i like the most. It is very cheap especially when it is hot saving time of the year. This printer is like his brother, Epson WorkForce WF-2530. It is nearly the same except for the ethernet and the LCD screen. This print also uses T200 inkjet which is VERY cheap and very reliable. It only cost $9.00 and it can print 500 pages. Without swapping the whole ink cartidge, you just need to swap out the needed ink color. There is a tchnology that also states the amount of ink left.

The only paper tray is rear feed

This is not a problem, it's a complaint of sort. I ordered this product online, using this website to get all the details. I purchased this model because I thought it had it's own paper tray (not a rear feed, semi-vertical paper feeder). I thought this because under specifications/paper handling it says: "Input Paper Tray Capacity: 100 sheets plain paper, 10 envelopes." But if you look under other machines that do have their own paper trays, it lists the additional paper tray as "rear feed." Why isn't this one listed as "rear feed?" This is very misleading! They need to change the description to reflect the fact that this paper feeder is rear feed. I could return it and get a model that does have a separate paper tray but I can't afford the additional $50. But I am satisfied with the other features so I guess I will keep it. Just set it up last night so haven't done a whole lot yet. I might update the review in a few weeks.

FANTASTIC PRICE!!!!! only a slightly difference in cost and comes with so much more. My Epson NX115 went out and I was only looking to replace with the same. But, 100 series was discontinued. This Workforce 2540 offers faster printing,coping faxing and wireless many other features. I only paid $30.00 more than an Epson inkjet printer-copier. I recommend this unit very highly, worth every penny.

I've only had this "Printer/Fax for a week now. The printer is awesome. Setting up the printer was easy, and fast. I did all the setting up on my computer. It works great, and lives up to and beyond my expectations. The "FAX" I had a little problem with. It turned out not to be any big deal once I called Epson. They talked me though the fax settings. The technician's were just great. Now I'm printing, copying, scanning, and faxing like crazy. I highly recommend this product from Epson. The Epson WorkForce WF-2540, a great machine. Also it's at a great price for the pocket. I'm just so happy with this machine, I just can't say enough about it.

  This printer is actually compatible with Windows 8 according to Epson's site (epson.com). If it was not, when you installed it your computer would automatically search for drivers. If that failed to work, you can go to Epson's site and search for drivers for the WF-2540. From there, you would select your operating system (Windows 8) and click the download button. Then, your printer should work. However, Epson says that it'll work right away without having to do those steps -- I just gave them to you just in case. Hope this helps!

  This printer can handle printing from two different inputs. Your setup will work fine and you do not need to disconnect the USB interface in order to also print over wireless from your laptop.
