Great wide printer for the price

I'm a long time Epson user having working in the photographic field. I was surprised to find a wide format Epson printer in this price range. The printer functions very well and with two paper paths and double side printing it's a steal for the price. I print posters and event ticket stock with no problems. The driver has all the usual Epson features including loadable color profiles. I replaced my aging 2200 with this machine and am very happy with the results.

Typical Epson Miscommunication

The good news is that the Workforce series addressed the clogged nozzle and printhead problems so prevalent in other Epson ink jets. The bad news is that Epson still has not learned how to properly inform buyers of the products limitations. If one buys a printer that offers wide format output and automatic duplexing, one should rightly expect that the duplexing feature applies to any media size within the printer's capability.

Unfortunately, with this machine, you have to go through the entire unpacking and set-up process, discover that if you're a Mac user, the install disk isn't supported by OS 10.8 (so you have to d/l the current driver from epson.com), and then try to print a large format document to find that only sizes like letter, A4, and a few other similar — and most definitely not wide format — sizes are supported by the duplexer.

This limitation is mentioned nowhere. Not on the box, not on the website, not within the meagre documentation that comes with the unit, and not even in the barely helpful online manual. Worse, it took more almost 30 minutes to verify this unacceptable flaw via Epson's offshore tech support call center!

Forget you, Epson. I'm sticking with HP.

Pros:Setup was easy ,Very fast and nice printing. I bought this for large format printing and it works very well for cad drawings.Prints to scale and does a very good job.The price was right and after using it I would buy another.For best results stay with EPSON INK cons: I live in a very rural area and finding 13 X 19 paper,forget it.But there are a lot of places online with free shipping.

Epson products have been my overall favorites for years now. I've had a scanner and printer from them for over 13 years now. So far, the drivers have been always updated and the products are made strong. If I hadn't been careless in dropping my last printer, I would still have it! Color are always beautiful, I have used another one for sublimation printing also. Very easy installation, just read and follow the instructions. I believe in keeping my hardware IE: printers/fax/scanners, separate, in case something should go on one thing and this is a large printer, I am happy! Even though I am not in business, I do dabble in other things and expect this printer to last me for another 10 years!

Definite I would recomend this printer. Great quality, fast printing with two cases for the printing paper. I mainly use 13 x 19 inches or 11 x 17, and I would say constantyly or a lot. Im considering buying an extra one. By the way I have three Epson printers for ink and five lasers not epson.

I received printer set up was painless with the documentation provided. Prints clear and quick. The only fault that keeps it from getting an excellent rating is that after about two days it started a squeeking noise whe printing .

So far so good with this printer....would have rated this with 5 stars if it came with BETTER instructions! I am pretty tech savvy, but it does not tell you to hit the ink button after installing the cartridges. So I was sitting here waiting for a while. Also so more instructions on how to load different paper types, and envelopes would be nice!

  The WorkForce Printer is not designed to print on 10" x 13" envelopes. You'd be better off printing your addresses on labels and putting those on the envelopes.

  Although the official specifications do not state whether this printer can accept a 100 lb. stock, several user reviews state that they have used this weight of card stock with no issues. It can handle 100 lb. stock up to size 13" x 19".

  The Epson WorkForce WF-7010 can auto-duplex up to 13" x 19" sized paper. However, the loading capacity for legal sized paper (8.5" x 14") and up to 13" x 19" is only 30 sheets, as opposed to the 250 sheet capacity of normal sized, 20lb weight paper.
