Nice Chair but Costly

Comments about Eurotech High Back Executive Mesh Chair Black:

The first time around, I bought a $150~ Poynter High back managers chair with a headrest. It functioned well for about a year and started creaking bad when leaning back or forward. Then the last straw, when I finally just had to use my warranty, was the seat material disintegrating leaving faux leather pieces all over my floor.

So that brings us to this purchase: I bought this chair at its high cost hoping to avoid the perils I faced with my initial purchase above. And so far, I can't say I'm wholly disappointed.

The chair was a snap to assemble, and you'd have to be completely daft (and I mean that in the nicest way), in order to botch it up. There were I believe maybe 6 screws and most of the main parts were put together in the box. Now, it could have been my superhuman strength, but I managed to snap the supplied Allen Wrench/hex key when I attempted to keep the screws tight per the manuals instructions a few weeks later. So you might want to ensure you have your own personal high quality tools around going forward to maintain the chair as instructed.

It rolls smoothly across my floor mat, and even across a concrete floor I was using it on initially. No rolling noise at all. Hydraulics work without hassles. For the most part it's a solidly constructed chair, from the casters to the headrest.

The armrest are comfortably firm. A rubbery textured plastic is used that's fairly easy to clean. But I wish the adjustments were a bit tighter as they currently feel like, a few years from now, it might not retain its lock positioning as well as it does now. It could just be my chair, and it hasn't failed yet, so time will tell.

Regarding comfort: there's quite a few positions and options this chair allow for. There are 4 backrest positions in total which can also vary with how far the seat is slid forward or back. I would have like to have seen more micro adjustments with such a high dollar figure for this chair. Something like at least 8 positions, but like I said you can always slide the seat forward or back, or raise or lower the back and headrest to accommodate your comfort needs.

The seat can feel a bit stiff in the upright position, but I haven't suffered any fatigue in the 2-5 hours I'm usually in it. Generally, I'm usually locked to the second layback position and just sit up as needed.

For clarity of reference, I'm a 6 ft., 180 pound male, in moderate athletic condition.

All in all, it's not a bad chair at all, and I wouldn't have a problem buying another one granted this one holds out. Plus with the lifetime limited warranty, that tells me that this company will stand behind their product.

This is really one of those "you get what you pay for" type of deals to me, and I can't say I wouldn't buy from this brand again.

Hope this helps you make an informed purchasing decision!
