What makes the retractable expo marker great is it's retractability. If you use a dry erase marker intermitantly throughout the day, it's nice not to have to fumble with the cap or look for the cap once you've misplaced it. This marker also has a chisel tip head which gives you the option to write with a fine tip or bold with the side of the marker. The only drawback I have had with this dry erase marker is that the spring in the retract button can become dislodged. Once this happens, it is nearly impossible to use it again.

The retractable design is a good idea! Makes finding those 'misplaced' caps a little less of a worry. However to get all the mechanisms in place adds a little extra bulk to the markers. Not necessarily a bad thing just noticable. However, the color saturation is another issue. The black pen was rich and dark, like you'd assume a 'black' marker would be. BUT the other two colors were washed out and pastel to the degree that it was if they were already out of ink! This makes me think the 'capless' design may need some more thinking? It is as if they are not sealed well enough and they are drying out in the package. NOTE: this is an 'out of package' experience from fresh, new markers. Good idea but may need some work.
Comments about Expo® Click Retractable Chisel Tip Dry-Erase Markers, Assorted, 3/Pack:
Click caps keep the markers from drying out. No caps to search for. Tips stay nice, because you are not crushing a cap on them. Don't know yet if they are long-wearing, but I love them so far. Price-wise, they are about the same. I got these at a two- for-one offer.
Comments about Expo® Click Retractable Chisel Tip Dry-Erase Markers, Assorted, 3/Pack:
I needed the different colors to highlight aspects of triangles and work for my students. I needed the retractable feature so I didn't have to mess with caps but could quickly change colors without any time wasted. I love that there are no caps to lose or caps that I neglect to put back on tightly enough.
Comments about Expo® Click Retractable Chisel Tip Dry-Erase Markers, Assorted, 3/Pack:
Very convenient for us teachers who like to walk away from the whiteboard and talk with the markers in our hands. They either dry out for being uncapped for so long, or they wind up anywhere in the classroom but back on the tray. The "clickables" allow you to walk and talk and put the marker in your pocket until you get back to the board. Only problem - got to hide them from my 7th graders!
