It does a great job at cross shredding but if you try to put an envelope that contains a credit-card type object it will not shred until you take the card out of the envelope. That's sad as the product is promoted able to take 9 sheets. An envelope containing envelope, letter, credit card must add up to 9 sheets. I am disappointed with that aspect as this is gift for my 84 year old father and for him to take that extra step I'm sure he'll be grouchy. But overall, if someone gave this to me as a gift, I would say "thank you." (but p.s. the directions really could use some work)

Not satisfied with performance

This shredder is not the right choice for businesses. If you're looking for one to use occasionally, it should be a fair choice. It gets quite messy when you remove the shredding device from the bin. Noise level is quite high but manageable. It overheats rather quickly so if you're cleaning out your office and have a lot of paper to shred, this item is NOT for you. The bin size is not very large. Again, not recommended for businesses with a lot of shredding.

Did not meet the quality and power of the old Fellows shredder it was replacing and was more costly. Old Shredder served me for 10 years;was used constantly, and was purchased as a refurbished model.
