In the past I have cut the binding combs to fit my size needs. The combs are a standard 8.5 x 11. This machine does come with a built in guide, so odd sizes are easy to align. As far as the heavier weigh paper stock, I've used 32 lb with no problem at all, however I only punched 4 sheets at a time.
