This new handheld contains Merriam-Webster's Collegiate Dictionary, 11th edition including biographical and geographical entries.

The dictionary speaks over 500,000 clear and concise definiteions and the thesaurus contains 500,000 synonyms & antonyms. The reference set also contains Merriam-Webster's Concise Dictionary of English Usage, Guide to Punctuation and style, and Dictionary of Quotations. Also includes a USB link (PC or MAC) that will allow a user defined personal dictionary of up to 500 entries of Excel compatible csv file format to be downloaded to the unit.

    This unit does what it states but without a light in the display and on the keyboard it leaves a lot to be desired. I would pay extra to have these features because it would make the unit less frustrating to use.

            This fits my pocket well and seems to be mechanically good. A good dictionary will always have the word ort in it and this one does. It's search time is the best I've owned. I use it mostly for crosswords. I like the way it gives you 5 languages at one time for a search. I don,t have a cable for an interface(Model SCD-2110)

            Often, while driving or watching television I hear a word I can't define, or perhaps spell, and this product takes care of that.
            I only wish I could afford one for the home and the car—that I would not have to take it to and from my car daily.
            If the voice pronunciation were clearer, that would be nice; but the biggest improvement would be a lighted display and keyboard, but these are minor inconveniences.
            Overall, it's really a handy and well worth it.
