Won't swivel...

These casters are NOT worth the money! They roll well but I spend all day in a horse shoe shaped desk area, and am wheeling around constantly. I have had to fight these casters continually as they will not swivel, get caught, stick....not a good product at ALL! I am going to return them immediately. Been on my chair for less than 24 hours and I can't stand them!

Q:
What material are the caster wheels made of? Looking at the picture it appears to be the same material as original casters only slightly wider.

I am looking for some form of hard rubber that does not scratch a wood floor. I will not be using a floor mat.

Is there another product code for hard rubber casters wheels?

  The Futura casters are made specifically for hard wood floors, they will not mar or scratch the floor. Currently STaples does not have any rubber type wheels, but these will work successfully on wooden floors.

I have a True Design Manager chair item number 7194/7294. We just moved to a new unit and I use my chair on the tile floor. The casters leave black marks on the grout. Will the soft casters leave a black mark? If they won't is this the correct size caster to order?

  Yes, these casters are for use on hard floors. These casters come with different size stems. You can determine the correct stem diameter by removing a caster from the leg of your chair base and matching the diameter of the different size stems.

Q:
I have a chair mat purchased from Staples, Rubbermaid 45758 and a chair from Staples, sku on the chair is 475027. I have a home office with burber carpet. The chair mats only last about a year, then they break up. Today I was told by a CSR at Staples Brand Group that I will have to replace the casters on the chair with one with soft wheels. This is the 3rd mat I've replaced, the 2nd under warranty - but this is the first anyone has mentioned this. Then when I see the price - I'm blown away . . . half the price of the chair. Will these soft casters really care of this reoccuring problem?

  Yes this will effectively solve this problem for you. The soft wheels will give a little as you are rolling on the mat. This won't cause scuffs that lead to cracks.
