Standard clip-on reels will wear away at your belts over time. This reel can attach to your belt LOOP, saving it from scuffs. It can also then be tucked under your belt, minimizing swinging of the badge while walking. Also, carabiner is easy to attach to a bag, allowing you to remove it without misplacing it.
It is still prone to breakage on the elastic string, like any other badge reel. No one has figured out an affordable way to make a durable one yet I guess.
I definitely recommend this to anyone required to wear an ID badge all day that doubles as a door-entry verification tool.

This product would be ideal if it had a generic clip instead of a belt-only clip. It would be nice to be able to clip my badge on a shirt, sweater, or suitcoat.

I bought this for a 7 year old, and it still works and has not fallen apart or had the string pulled out. The cheaper ones I have gotten did not last AT ALL under regular to heavy use. This one is holding up well. Very durable and worth the initial extra cost.
