I purchased this because it has a 3.5mm plug and my BlackBerry Pearl 8120 has a 3.5mm jack. I owned a BB Pearl 8100 and that had a 2.5mm jack, so when I upgraded to the 8120, I found out that BB changed the jack size . I need to be hands free so I can access my computer and a headset with a flexible boom mic is what I need and this is great. It has a behind the neck design rather than the top of head. Mic can position comfortably and is flexible. Overall, good product, good sound, and now in both ears as my old headset only had one side earpiece with non-flexible mic. Cord is about 72" long and that allows me to move around my workstation in my chair to the printer, fax, etc...

This is perfect for the work at home person like me.

I bought it again and again (at least 5 times) because of the outstanding performance outdoors and in loud environments.
BUT it brakes easy when you over-bend it a little, or when the cables get stuck somewhere. If the life-time would have been longer then 4-7month (2-5hours of daily use) I would have given it 5stars.

      Comments about GE VoIP All-in-One Foldable Headset:

      I am not a fan of ear buds at all, they hurt my ears. I do not like larger, heavier over the top of your head phones either.

      I discovered the GE VoiP Foldable Headset (back of the head wrap) about four years ago. I love them. They are comfortable, easy to use, work very well either on my computer (with the splitter) or with my Droid Bionic. I listen to audio books with my Audible app when driving. This headset works so well for me in the car. When I make long phone calls this headset beats the heck out of holding the phone to my head. I have even given these as gifts to a few friends. It works well with VoiP also over my computer for Skype or Yahoo web chats or Google chat ;-}

      The only drawback with the original design was the fragility. They can break easily after time. Haven't had the new model long enough to know how fragile this iteration is.

      The newest version was a bit disappointing because now the standard part of the cord does not easily reach to my phone's cradle on my vehicle's window, so I have difficulty turning the wheel without getting tangled up. What they did was extend the splitter that goes into the mic and speaker port on my computer. But I REALLY need the main cord to be longer in this new version.

      Hope GE will listen and redesign for their next release.

          Comments about GE VoIP All-in-One Foldable Headset:

          They earpiece is tough I had to put an extra spongue over it. The section which bends above the ear is pressing onto my head causing pain and discomfort. I however like that it does not have to go on my head, but at the back of my neck, which is one of the main reason I bought it. I dont like the fact that the volume of the speaker cannot be adjusted. I am not satisfied with product and would like a change.

              One of the reasons I purchased this headset was to be able to make phone calls from my computer. I am able to make the call, and hear the recipient, but the person I am calling cannot hear me. No sound seems to be coming through the microphone. I simply attached the microphone to the headset. Is there something else I need to do to get this to work correctly? Thanks for your help.

                You would need to make sure that the headset is plugged into both the mic and speaker jack on the computer.

                First plug in your cables, then open phone-software! Your software should ask you which audio devise to use.

                OR

                1. Every time check if the cables are plugged in correctly. For computer, they are color coded. The RED one is the mic.

                2. Go to your skype or other software and open the audio (and video) options. Select the mic and I hope your software offers MIC sensitivity ... adjust these.

                3. there is always the possibility, that on the other-side is something wrong. My father forgets so switch on his speakers.

                I don't think the microphone would be sensitive enough to pick up any voice that didn't speak directly into it. A good tape recorder would have a microphone for that purpose.
