We use our Garmin while traveling anywhere we are unfamiliar with directions. We find it very helpful. It is relaxing to go to an area where we don't know our way around, just click home and we are good to go.

There is not a pause mode,i.e., when you get off the main road to get fuel, stop for food, rest stops, etc. We would like to see this type of feature. OR, if the Detour setting is intended for this, if we had more information on how this works.

P.S. We previously used Co-Pilot and this program had a "sleep" mode for this purpose.

In answer to the below question on recommendations - we have recommended this to several frients - 3 bought the 7200 and others bought smaller versions. You can see we definitely recommend.

We have looked at a Tom-Tom our friends own and it is NOT as user friendly as is Garmin.
