I bought this chair 6/2/2004 to be used at my computer desk. I absolutely LOVE this chair! I've even managed to fall asleep in this chair because it's so comfortable! I especially like the way the arms adjust and the way it tilts back. I find myself talking on the phone just rocking away in this chair.

My only problem that I've encountered is that the arms, after quite some time, start to come apart. The cushioning on the arms have now mostly crumbled and I wish that I could get some replacement arms for the chair. Even after all this time, the chair is still in great shape, it's just the arms cushions that have started to crumble.

Armrests will fail

I sit in one of these chairs virtually all day. I have one at the office and at home. This is also the same chair 3 other coworkers use. They all have one thing in common: The armrests totally disintegrate over time.
I'm right handed, so my left arm is on the arm rest more than the right. My left armrest is toast and often pinches the skin of my elbow in the cracks of the outer shell.
It also creaks, ALOT. I'm sometimes a bit self-conscious when I shift in my chair because it rings out like a fog horn!
This chair should be used sparingly, perhaps just as a guest chair. Plan to get another chair in a year or so.
It's cheap, and you get what you pay for.

    I have a slightly different model than this chair- but I did experience the falling-apart armrest problem after 5 years. I flipped the chair over, saw the Global Upholstery Company info on the bottom of the seat and emailed them with my model number and some other numbers located there. They sent me two replacement armrests - totally free of charge, not even shipping! You will not find better customer service or a company that stands behind what they make. I only buy Global chairs, the 'LLBean' of home office furniture.

      This chair is not durable, in 5 months the tilt function become totally stuck, not to say that it was not really ok since the begging. It is not true about adjustable tilt tension, it is not adjustable at all. The foam is some very cheap version, now in the middle it is absolutely pressed and my legs are almost numb after few hours of working.

        I've been looking for a suitable replacement for my old computer chair for a few weeks now. Ultimately, I settled on this one...which is actually an updated version of the same model I used to own.

        This chair, I hate to say, is not the best quality you can find. There are chairs in the same price range that are definitely better quality. The armrests are pretty poor: and I can see how they are destined to become a hassle as other reviewers have stated they have. I also makes a decent amount of creaking noise.

        Bottom line though: I find this chair far more comfortable than all the super-ergonomic $500 chairs out there. The back is attached to the seat by a flexible metal bar that gives a springy support that is great to lean back and rock yourself into relaxation with. The back rest is big and wide and supports my back nice and evenly. This is NOT a chair for those who want perfect upright lumbar support that allows a constant working position. But if you're like me, and just like to lean back and lounge when your back gets tired, then this is the best option I've found.

        The arm rests should be flat for working comfortably on keyboard. They dip in the middles for resting and hurt arms when using keyboard. I use this chair for work all day 8 plus hours. It's not an all day chair in my opinion. Nice looking, but I don't see it lasting very long. Not as comfortable as it appears.
